Intr:-Today, China's economy occupies an important position in the world economy. Economically , it is the world's fourth largest trading nation.
There are many reasons why China's economy is improving-
The Communist revolution under Mao's leadership, Chinese economy was based on the Soviet model.for this reason it had to rely on Soviet help and it's own resources for a brief period.
In 1978, the supreme Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping announced Open Door Policy and reforms in China.The aims was to increase productivity by investment of technology and capital from overseas.
China's economy grains since 1978 are linked to its rise as a great power.Sinnce reforms began, China has been the most rapidly growing economy.It is expected to replace US as the world's largest economy by 20240.
The economic strength along with its population, location,land mass, resources and political influence add to its power in important ways.
The adoption of new economic policies broke the stagnation in Chinese economy.Privatisation of agriculture has led to a remarkable increase in agricultural production and rural income.High rate of savings in rural sector has led to an unexpected growth in rural industry. Chinese agriculture and industry, therefore grew at a rapid Pace.
Conclusion:- In addition to these china assured social welfare and employment to all citizens. Further,it moved ahead by assuring health and education for all.

(2) Discuss briefly pillars of Asian Community.(Marks-6)
Ans:-
Intr:-ASEAN has played an important role among regional organisations.
In 2003 ASEAN followed the EU path by establishing an ASEAN community with three pillars:
(1)ASEAN Security Community
(2)ASEAN Economic Community
(3)ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community.
(1)ASEAN Security Community:- The ASEAN Security community was based on the dictum that outstanding territorial dispute should not result in an armed conflict.The coordination of security and foreign policy is done by a forum established in 1994, called the ASEAN regional forum.
(2)ASEAN Economic community:-The ASEAN economic community aims to create a common market and production base within ASEAN countries.
(3)ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community:-The ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community aims to promote social progress, reduce poverty and ensure the sustainable development of the region.
Therefore, it can be said that ASEAN moves forward as a regional cooperation organization through the three pillars of ASEAN

(3) Give a brief account of India's relations with China.(Marks-6)
Ans:-
Intr:-China and India are two of the world's oldest civilization and have co-existed peacefully for many centuries. However, there is also conflict between the two countries.
Relations between China and India can be traced back to ancient times and trade relations via the"Silk Route"has acted as economic contact between the two regions.
But, since the early 1950, this relationship has undergone a change and the border war of 1962 has strained this relationship.
After India's independence from Britain, it was hoped that china and India would come together to shape the future path of Asia. Indian government under prime minister Nehru promoted the slogan"Hindi-Chini bhai bhai and there was a belief that difference could be resolved peacefully.
India's border with China never well demarcated and china has extended it territorial claims over Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin region of Ladakh.
But 1970-1990 during this phase, relations between India and China started to slowly improve and a series of talks were initiated to resolve the border dispute.
China and India currently enjoy friendly trade relations. China's luxury lifestyle, including food, has had a significant impact on India.
Conclusion:-So it can be said that relations between China and India are quite good at present.

Intr:-The European Union have emerged as world powers which are capable of challenging American dominance.
The European Union is a major economic and commercial power and the World's largest donor of development aid to poorer countries.
This Union covers more than 4 million sq.km. Its membership has grown from six to 27 nations. Their size varies widely with France the biggest and Malta the smallest.
The European Union has 495 million inhabitants-the world's third largest population after China and India.
The main aim of the European Union are to promote peace,its values and the well-being of its peoples.
Nowadays,as 21 and 27 EU member state are also members of NATO, some EU states cooperate and defence policy albeit primarily.
Conclusion:- Therefore, it can be said that the European Union has been able to exert significant influence in all aspects, economic, political, diplomatic and military.

(5) Write a short note on ASEAN.(Marks-4)

Intr:-ASEAN have emerged as world powers which are capable of challenging American dominance.
The Association of Southest Asian Nations,or ASEAN, was established on 8th august,1967 in Bangkok. The founding fathers of ASEAN, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Today the ten member States of ASEAN. It's headquarters is located in Jakarta.
The main aim of the ASEAN are to promote economic, social, cultural, technical, scientific and administrative fields.
ASEAN has moved along the lines of EU and accordingly in 2003 established the ASEAN community which comprises of three pillars, namely the ASEAN political-security community,ASEAN economic community and ASEAN Socio-cultural community.
ASEAN is the only political forum in Asia where Asian countries and major powers discuss political and security issues in the region.
